Creditsafe will offer you multiple MFA Options when we are activating (setting up) your account (Identity) with us, these include:

  • E-mail
  • SMS
  • Google Authenticator
  • Bank ID (SE Only)

As part of the account activation, an activation email will be sent to you containing an activation link to setup Identity.

After confirming your name, department, seniority, and setting your password, if MFA is enabled against your user, you will see the following page.

It is possible to select one or more MFA mechanisms that can be used.

E-mail

If E-mail is selected it will mean you will be set-up to receive the 6 digit verification code via the e-mail address you use to log into Creditsafe.

SMS

If you have selected SMS, you will be required to enter in a valid country code & mobile number, this will enable you to receive the 6 digit verification code via text message.

Authenticator App

Authenticator apps are a software-based authenticator that implements two-step verification services using the Time-based One-time Password Algorithm and HMAC-based One-time Password algorithm, for authenticating users of software applications.

Firstly you will need to have an Authenticator app on their smartphone, Google & Microsoft are the most commonly used but there are dozens available, just searching 'Authenticator App' in the App/Play Store.

When selecting authenticator app from the account set-up options, you will see a QR code such as the below:

Open the app, follow the steps to set-up a new account and scan the QR Code displayed on the screen.

If scanned successfully, you will see a six-digit code within the app that needs to be entered correctly. There will be a timer displayed within the app indicating how long the code is valid for. The code must still be valid when 'Confirm' is clicked.

Once every box you want to use for MFA is selected and set-up, you can click CONFIRM and the details will be saved.
