You can now search for companies in local language (English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Italian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish). This enables you to use local names for fields such as city and country, for ease of use for international company searches.
If you configure your reports to show in a local language in Salesforce, you will see this update in the following areas:
- Searching for a report
- Viewing a company report
- Saving a report
To set a local language in Salesforce, please follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Settings tab.
- Click on the Search section.
- Locate the Default Search Language dropdown menu.
- Click on the dropdown and select your preferred language from the list (e.g., French, Spanish, German, etc.).
- Click the Save button to confirm your selection.
- Your searches and Company Reports will now be performed and viewed in the selected language.
If you would like more of your Salesforce environment to be translated into a local language, please follow the below steps:
Change your personal language in Salesforce:
- Select:
- In Salesforce Classic: Setup | Personal Setup | My Personal Information | Edit
- In Salesforce Classic (Improved Setup): Your name | My Settings | Personal | Language & Time Zone
- In Lightning Experience: Your Avatar | Settings | Language & Time Zone
- Select your preferred language from the Language dropdown.
- You may also want to modify your Locale setting to control the formatting of numbers, dates, and phone numbers.
- Click Save.
