The Companies House identity verification reforms have been introduced as part of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act.
The new Companies House identity verification system will require all company directors, people with significant control (PSCs), and authorised agents to confirm their identity before they can register or manage a company. Once verified, each person will have a unique digital identity linked across all their directorships. This will eliminate duplicate director profiles, improve data accuracy, and strengthen transparency in the UK company register.
Creditsafe now shows whether company directors and PSCs have completed identity verification with Companies House.
This verification information is visible on:
- Director and Secretary summary pages
- Full company reports
- PSC reports

Each individual’s verification status will show one of three values:
Status Meaning
– The person is yet to be verified
Yes The person has been successfully verified
No The person has not verified by the required date
It is important to highlight that “No” does not automatically mean fraud. It simply indicates that the person has not provided their IDV code to Companies House by the deadline.
